Umit Beynel
He started his career at TOFAŞ (Turkish Automobile Factory) in 2000. After working in the Body Shop (BIW) for 6 years, he continued in the Production Technology Directorate, which is responsible for new model commissioning works. After working as the Operation Cards Manager here for 6 years, he realized the GD&T deficiency in Turkey in 2015 and improved himself in this regard. He carried out GD&T studies for TOFAŞ models Egea, Doblo and Fiorino as well as global FIAT models Panda, 500L and Maserati. Afterwards, after 2 years of experience in the sub-industry in Çoşkunöz, one of the largest sub-industries in Turkey, he adopted the mission of transferring his experience to develop design, production and quality employees in companies that manufacture defense, aviation and machinery, especially in the automotive sector. For this purpose, he founded Plus Education and Consultancy and started his activities.
Although GD&T is an important engineering language that makes serious contributions to product feasibility and directly affects product costs when applied correctly, it is not taught as a separate course in universities, but is only briefly covered in mechanical engineering classes. For this reason, when our young people enter business life, they have difficulty reading, creating and interpreting technical drawings. Most companies direct their new employees to GD&T training in order to fill this gap.
